Group assignment 2.7: Torrential tales#
Due: Friday, January 9, 2025
In this project, you will work on the uncertainty of precipitation in a city in Pakistan to assess the risk of flooding in the area. You have quarterly (3 times per month) observations for 45 years in different cities in Pakistan. The dataset was retrieved from here and note that it includes different cities in Pakistan. You will further analyze the city with the highest recorded precipitation.
The goal of this project is:
Perform Extreme Value Analysis using Yearly Maxima.
Perform Extreme Value Analysis using POT.
Compare the results from both methods in terms of design return levels.
